Likeness, Consent & Takedown
How consent to use a face or voice is recorded, and how to get a likeness of you removed.
Version 0.1 · Last updated 26 August 2026
1. Consent is recorded, not assumed
Before Selfcast will build a character from photographs, a selfie video or a voice sample, you must confirm that the face and voice are yours, or that you hold the depicted person's permission. We store, against your account:
- the time you gave consent;
- the exact text you were shown, kept by version, so we can show what you agreed to rather than what the wording happens to say today;
- the character it applies to;
- optionally a liveness selfie, where you choose to prove the face is yours.
2. Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw at any time from character settings. Withdrawal stops future generation from that character and deletes the underlying face and voice data within 7 days. Episodes already published to a third-party platform are outside our control — you will need to remove those yourself.
3. Reporting a likeness of you
If you believe Selfcast has been used to depict you without your permission, tell us. You do not need an account, and you do not need to identify the user.
Send to [GRIEVANCE OFFICER EMAIL]:
- a link to the content, or the episode reference if you have it;
- enough for us to recognise you in it;
- a statement that you did not consent;
- how to reach you.
4. What happens next
- Within 48 hours — we acknowledge your report.
- Assessment — we check whether a consent record exists for the character, and whether it plausibly covers you.
- Action — where we find no valid consent we disable the character, remove the generated content, and act on the account. Where the content is sexual or depicts a minor we act immediately and may report it.
- Outcome — we tell you what we did.
5. Counter-notice
If your character was removed and you hold valid consent, reply with the evidence. We will review and restore it if the consent stands. Repeated bad-faith reports may themselves lead to action.
6. Public figures
We refuse to generate characters resembling real public figures, regardless of consent. Enforcement is automated and imperfect; please report anything that gets through.
