Acceptable Use & AI Content Policy

What you may and may not make with Selfcast, and how we enforce it.

Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. This document was prepared for internal review. It has not been reviewed or approved by qualified legal counsel and must not be relied upon as it stands. AIO Solution must have it reviewed before Selfcast accepts payments or personal data. Passages in square brackets are unresolved facts, not redactions.

1. The short version

Selfcast makes convincing synthetic video of people. That is useful when the person is you or a character you invented, and harmful when it is someone who did not agree. Nearly everything below follows from that.

2. Prohibited

Real people without consent

You may not create a character that depicts a real person unless it is you, or you hold that person's documented consent. This includes public figures, politicians, celebrities and private individuals alike. We refuse prompts that appear to name a real public figure and offer a fictional alternative instead.

Minors

No character may depict a person under 18, and you may not upload photographs or recordings of a minor. There is no exception to this.

Sexual content

No nudity or sexual content, generated or uploaded.

Deception about real events

You may not produce material presented as genuine news, or content designed to mislead about elections, public health, public safety or an ongoing event. Satire and clearly-labelled fiction are permitted; material engineered to be mistaken for a real recording is not.

Harassment, hate and violence

No content attacking a person or group on the basis of a protected characteristic, no targeted harassment, no incitement to violence, and no glorification of self-harm.

Fraud and impersonation

No content intended to impersonate a person or organisation to obtain money, credentials or trust.

3. Disclosure is mandatory

Episodes are synthetic media. Where we publish on your behalf we set the platform's synthetic-content flag automatically. Where you download and publish yourself, disclosure is your responsibility — as required by YouTube and Meta policy and by the EU AI Act's transparency obligations.

You must not remove provenance metadata or a watermark applied by an underlying model.

4. How we enforce this

We screen prompts and uploads before generation, and outputs after it. Screening is automated and imperfect in both directions: it will occasionally block something legitimate and occasionally miss something it should have caught. Items flagged for judgement go to human review.

A blocked generation is not billed. Where we find a breach we may remove content, restrict features, or suspend the account. Serious breaches — content involving minors above all — are actioned immediately and may be reported to the authorities.

5. If you think we got it wrong

Automated screening makes mistakes. Contact [SUPPORT EMAIL] with the episode reference and we will have a person look at it.

6. Reporting misuse

To report content made with Selfcast that breaches this policy — including material depicting you without consent — see our Likeness, Consent & Takedown policy.
